HAMSA AL-WADI JURIS

Hamsa Al-Wadi Juris studied the piano at the Damascus Arab Conservatory of Music. Music diploma (MA) from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatoire 1982.
Further studies at the Tchaikovsky Conservatoire 1982-83. MLic (artistic line) at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatoire 1985. Teacher Pavel Messner.

Teacher of piano at the Central Finland Conservatoire 1985-87.
Lecturer in piano music at the Sibelius Academy since 1987.
Part-time teacher of the piano at the Espoo Music Institute 1988-1990.
Solo, duo and orchestral soloist appearances in many parts of the Middle East, Europe, South America and the USA.
Numerous recordings for the Finnish Broadcasting Company (YLE) since 1986.

Youngest participant in the Warsaw Chopin Competition 1975. Semi-finalist in the Leipzig Bach Competition. IV prize in the Beethoven Competition in Vienna 1981. Semi-finalist in the II Japan Piano Competition 1983. Teacher in masterclasses and summer courses.
